This cake was designed and made over a three week period by Glynne Smalley, son of Pat & Barrie Smalley festival organisers.

It was made from photo’s that was taken in earlier years .
The cake included a large base consisting of fruit cake , coated with marzipan and icing, whilst the sand effect was semolina , and the main structure was built up around several blocks of oasis, that is generally used by flower decorators, and eventually coated in sugar paste on the outside. This is one of several cakes that Glynne has made for the festival, one in 2007 was for bobby reed with a sheep theme.
